"Norm"
By: Jon Paul LeJeune
What do
you see when you look at me?
A reflection of a society you try so hard to ignore.
You care not for my dreams or aspirations.
You see me as you want to see me;
strange and foolish.
Yet in your eyes I see a falsity.
A fake who sells his true worth for the acceptance of the "norm".
And what does it accomplish
to trade your god given originality for the scars of false love?
Go ahead
Live in your pitiful world of self loathing.
Sugar coat it and call it bliss,
only to laugh at those who hold firm to thier unique nature.
Such a sad ideal
but, in the end who laughs the loudest?
